Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers on diverse routes, including OTR driving routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, or specialty cargo like flatbeds and tankers using manual handling techniques. Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and ensure timely deliveries across multiple locations. Transport automobiles or other specialty freight with precision and care, ensuring proper load & unload procedures are followed. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and cargo to verify safety compliance and vehicle condition. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo manifests in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license and a clean driving record. Strong knowledge of trucking regulations including FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT rules, and safety standards. Experience driving different types of trailers such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or tractor-trailers for diverse freight needs. Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation tools to optimize delivery efficiency. Ability to manually handle heavy cargo safely during loading and unloading processes. Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures for freight including dangerous goods or hazardous materials. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, manual transmission operation (if applicable), and adherence to all traffic laws.
