Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks on local routes, including delivery driving and route driving assignments Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes, avoiding delays and ensuring on-time deliveries Transport refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized equipment depending on cargo requirements Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and other safety standards during all operations Manage logistics cargo handling efficiently to prevent damage or loss of freight Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, and inspection reports Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on delivery driving and route driving Knowledge of refrigerated trailer operation and hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) handling Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments Ability to load and unload freight safely using manual handling techniques; experience with truck loading/unloading preferred Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous goods transportation standards Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and tractor-trailers with manual handling expertise Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling processes for various freight types including dangerous goods and specialty loads This role demands a proactive approach to safety and efficiency while providing excellent service to our customers.
