We specialize in the customer focus of specialty robotic platform racks, metal fabrication, material handling containers, returnable containers, and in plant process carts. JOB DESCRIPTION
Class A Trucker Driver
JOB SUMMARY
Full-time trucker driver responsible for transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants. This is a 1st shift position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES DOT
inspecting vehicles and trailers daily for mechanical items and safety issues. Retain for a minimum of 30 days. Drive vehicles with a gross weight over 26,000 lbs. Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury. Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries/pick-ups. Confirm that the contents of each shipment load match all documentation. Fill out Driver's Daily Log with work hours, rest periods, etc. and turn into office. Fill out Penske Driver Trip reports daily with required information (trailer #, highways/state/mileage/empty or loaded/where you got fuel with fuel receipt attached, etc.) turn into Controller. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route destinations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Provide the Secretary of State and EAB with a valid and current medical certificate. Provide EAB with an annual motor vehicle report. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents, or violations. Be responsible for company credit card. Be responsible for scheduling annual DOT inspections on trucks and trailers. No ripped or frayed jeans allowed.
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Able to work 40+ hours a week. Valid class "A" CDL tractor/trailer operator. A minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial truck driving is preferred. Must be insurable with EAB insurance company, be approved by the Clearing House and Star Safety and Compliance. Able to pass a background check and random drug and alcohol testing. Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles. Alert, focused, and detail oriented. Physically and mentally fit. Ability to lift up to 40lbs. at a time. Able to operate a forklift. Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful. Able to secure load. Anything deemed necessary by Management Team Member only.
