Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Tow Truck Operator and become a vital part of roadside assistance and vehicle recovery services! In this energetic role, you will operate specialized tow trucks to assist stranded motorists, recover vehicles involved in accidents, and transport vehicles safely to repair facilities or storage yards. Your expertise will ensure quick, efficient, and safe vehicle handling while providing excellent customer service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, develop mechanical skills, and be a crucial first responder in vehicle emergencies. Duties Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized models, to recover and transport vehicles. Perform vehicle diagnostics and minor mechanical repairs to ensure tow readiness and troubleshoot basic issues. Secure vehicles properly using cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit. Load and unload vehicles with precision, adhering to safety standards for vehicle mechanics and cargo handling. Conduct vehicle recovery towing operations, including vehicle mechanics for truck drivers and vehicle mechanics for truck maintenance. Assist with mechanical troubleshooting, minor repairs, and vehicle diagnostics on-site or en route. Follow all safety procedures during vehicle loading onto tow trucks and while on the road, maintaining compliance with traffic laws and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate timely assistance. Skills Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, and minor mechanical vehicle repairs. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving and flatbed towing. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including understanding of manual transmissions and basic troubleshooting techniques. Skilled in conflict management to handle challenging situations professionally and calmly. Knowledge of cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transportation of various vehicles. Excellent customer service skills to assist stranded motorists courteously and efficiently. Ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment as needed for loading or unloading cargo.
