Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Truck Driver and play a vital role in keeping freight moving safely, efficiently, and on schedule. In this position, you'll operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including Kenworth T660 semi-trucks with van trailers, hopper trailers, and belly dumps, while maintaining full compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards. Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, while adhering to all company safety policies and federal regulations. Transport freight efficiently and securely to designated destinations while maintaining on-time delivery schedules. Load, unload, and secure cargo using proper manual handling techniques to prevent damage during transport. Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Follow all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including hours-of-service requirements, vehicle inspections, and safety procedures. Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, delivery records, and other required documentation. Utilize GPS navigation and route planning tools to maximize efficiency and adapt to changing road or weather conditions. Ensure all freight is handled according to company procedures and customer requirements. Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and team members to ensure smooth operations. Represent the company with professionalism and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Qualifications Previous commercial truck driving experience. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Experience operating manual transmission tractor-trailers, including van trailers, hopper trailers, and belly dumps. Working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA standards, hours-of-service requirements, and transportation safety practices. Ability to safely load, unload, and secure freight while following proper cargo handling procedures. Proficiency with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs). Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
