Job Overview Join our team as a Garbage Truck Driver with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and become a vital part of our solid waste management operations! In this energetic role, you will operate a rear load garbage truck. Your expertise in commercial truck driving combined with your commitment to safety and customer service will help keep communities clean and environmentally responsible. This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, navigate city routes, and contribute to sustainable waste solutions while enjoying a rewarding career in heavy-duty transportation all while being home every night and no weekends! Responsibilities Safely operate garbage trucks according to route schedules and traffic laws Load, unload, and transport waste materials while adhering to hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols Collect waste from designated residential, commercial, or municipal sites following established routes and procedures Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Maintain accurate logs of routes driven, loads collected, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with state transportation regulations Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route updates or issues encountered during collection Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions or concerns from residents or business owners professionally and courteously Requirements Valid CDL Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements for air brake systems and hazardous materials Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety protocol adherence for outdoor work environments Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual lifting tasks regularly during route operations Excellent driving skills with a focus on defensive driving techniques in urban or suburban settings Valid driver's license with a clean driving record demonstrating safe driving habits Join us in making a difference through responsible waste collection! Pay:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 45.0 per week
