We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest. nJob SummarynThe 4-Day Workweek CDL Class A Driver Pick-Up is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to delivery and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments. nHours and WagesnnMonday- Friday, 12:30PM completion of routenDay off depends on business needs, evaluated monthlynnnVoluntary OT on weekends (as needed)nPaid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per weeknStarting wage: $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experiencenn$2.00 per hour shift differential nnnnDuties and ResponsibilitiesnnConduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working ordernTurn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance formsnDeliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippersnVerify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accuratenCollect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposesnMaintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policiesnWash the exterior of tractor and equipment dailynAssist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needednnSkills and AbilitiesnnAbility to operate a manual transmissionnMust possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsementnMust possess good customer service and organizational skillsnMust be able to work independently and make quick decisionsnnEducation and ExperiencennAt least 21 years of agenHigh school diploma or equivalent preferrednHold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standardsnnPhysical RequirementsnnAbility to pass a DOT physicalnAbility to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionallynFull range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.nAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsnnBenefitsnnHealth Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and more.nnEEO and Affirmative Action StatementnSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
