Job Description
Job Overview Do you enjoy working with trucks and equipment in a fast-moving yard environment? Marvin is hiring a Trailer Spotter/Yard Jockey to help keep trailer movements aligned with transportation schedules and customer needs. In this role, you'll coordinate trailer placement, provide quality customer service, and perform miscellaneous mechanical work to support daily operations. This position plays an important role in keeping equipment and deliveries moving safely and effectively. You'll succeed in this role if you can solve problems quickly, work well with others in a learning-focused environment, and safely operate heavy equipment with minimal supervision. Highlights of your role Move trailers throughout the yard to align with Marvin truck schedules and customer needs. Provide excellent customer service and maintain clear communication with internal and external partners. Manage time, equipment, and materials efficiently to support operational goals. Perform miscellaneous mechanical repairs and maintenance as needed. Troubleshoot issues and implement timely, practical solutions to keep operations moving. Operate heavy equipment while maintaining safe work practices. You're a good fit if you have (or if you can) High school diploma or GED required. Mechanical knowledge, with vocational education considered a plus. Hold a valid CDL-A license. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively. Possess a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical vehicle and equipment components. Also want to make sure you have DOT certification is a plus. Clean and safe driving record. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop quick, effective solutions. Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
