Job Description

Agricultural Operations & CDL Driver $23-$29/hour + Overtime | Full-Time | Year-Round | Local Work | Home Every Night Pay depending on experience and qualifications 100% company-paid health insurance for the employee 100% company-funded SEP retirement plan, with strong employer contributions Paid vacation/PTO Paid holidays T&R Soil Service is looking for a dependable, capable individual to join our team as an Agricultural Operations & CDL Driver . This position is designed for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and wants to be an important part of a local agricultural operation. Professional truck driving and delivery will be a primary responsibility of this position, but it is not the entire job. When trucking needs allow, this person will also assist with other areas of our operation, including plant operations, loading and unloading, equipment operation, product handling, equipment care, and other day-to-day responsibilities. We are looking for someone who can become a versatile and dependable member of our team, not simply someone interested in driving from one location to another. A Class A CDL is not required at the time of hire. Candidates must have the ability and willingness to obtain a Class A CDL and required endorsements. T&R Soil Service will work with the right candidate through that process. What You'll Do Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers after obtaining the required CDL and endorsements Deliver fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, and other agricultural products to customers and T&R custom application equipment Haul grain and other agricultural commodities to elevators, bins, and other destinations Assist with loading, unloading, and safe product transfer Operate loaders, forklifts, and other equipment as needed Assist with fertilizer and crop protection plant operations Verify products, quantities, loads, and delivery information Complete required DOT inspections, logs, and transportation documentation Keep trucks, trailers, and other equipment clean and in safe operating condition Identify and report maintenance, equipment, or safety concerns Assist with general equipment and facility upkeep Communicate professionally with customers, applicators, plant operators, and other members of our team Help wherever needed to keep the operation moving safely and efficiently Who We're Looking For We are more interested in finding the right person with the ability to learn than someone who has spent their entire career driving a truck.
The right candidate will:
Be dependable, responsible, and safety-minded Be mechanically inclined and comfortable around trucks, equipment, and machinery Be willing and able to obtain a Class A CDL and required endorsements Be comfortable learning new equipment, systems, and responsibilities Be able to work independently and make good decisions Take pride in caring for trucks, equipment, and facilities Pay attention to product information, load details, instructions, and paperwork Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers Be willing to take on different responsibilities as the needs of the operation change Adapt to changing schedules and priorities during busy agricultural seasons Be willing to work additional hours when seasonal demand requires it Have a positive, team-oriented approach and be willing to help where needed Previous agricultural, trucking, equipment operation, mechanical, construction, or similar hands-on experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person. CDL & Driving Requirements Ability and willingness to obtain a Class A CDL Ability to obtain required endorsements for assigned equipment and products Ability to meet applicable DOT driver requirements Satisfactory driving record Ability to safely learn and operate commercial trucks, trailers, and delivery equipment Applicants who already hold a Class A CDL are encouraged to apply, but an existing CDL is not required for the right candidate. Schedule & Work Environment This is a full-time, year-round position . Driving is primarily within T&R Soil Service's local trade area, with employees home every night under normal operating conditions . Agriculture is seasonal, so working hours will vary throughout the year. Additional hours, early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends may be required during busy planting, application, harvest, and fertilizer seasons. The position includes both driving and hands-on work in and around our facilities. Employees will work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around grain, fertilizer, crop protection products, trucks, trailers, agricultural equipment, and plant equipment. Pay & Benefits $23-$29 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, plus overtime. Pay:
