This is a local driving position with a 6:00 AM start, so you will be home each day. The driver will operate a large commercial garbage/collection truck on assigned routes throughout the Kansas City area, collecting and transporting yard waste and organic materials. This is a hands-on driving position, so drivers should be comfortable getting in and out of the truck frequently and assisting with collection duties when necessary. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class B commercial garbage/collection truck on assigned local routes.
- Collect and transport yard waste, leaves, brush, and other organic materials.
- Follow assigned routes and complete scheduled stops efficiently.
- Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Operate truck controls and collection equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate route and collection information.
- Communicate with dispatch and supervisors regarding route progress or problems.
- Keep assigned vehicle clean and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all
DOT/FMCSA
regulations, traffic laws, and company safety procedures.- Work independently or with a helper depending on the route.
- Assist with loading and collection duties as required.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Work occasional weekend overtime during busy periods.

driver qualification compliance, including:- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate / Medical Card.
- FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse compliance/registration, as applicable.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Required driving history and previous-employer information.
- Air-brake qualification/endorsement as required for the vehicle.
- Any other documentation required to establish a complete

Driver Qualification File. Qualifications- Valid Class B CDL - required.
- 1+ year of commercial driving experience strongly preferred.
- Experience operating garbage trucks, refuse trucks, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, concrete trucks, or other large commercial vehicles is a plus.
- Clean and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of DOT safety requirements and commercial vehicle inspections.
- Comfortable operating a large commercial vehicle on residential and local streets.
- Able to perform a physically demanding job that includes frequent entry and exit from the truck.
- Able to lift up to approximately 50 lbs. as required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot, cold, and changing weather conditions.
- Dependable and able to consistently report to work for a 6:00 AM start.
- Must be available for occasional weekend overtime during peak periods.
- Must meet all pre-employment requirements for a safety-sensitive commercial driving position. Why This Position
