3007324956-2 Apply for this job now Job Description GFL Environmental is seeking an Automated Side Load Driver to safely operate automated collection vehicles for residential and commercial waste and recycling routes. In this essential, front-line role, you will complete assigned routes, operate side-load equipment, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure compliant handling and dumping of materials. You'll interact professionally with customers, follow all safety and environmental regulations, and report maintenance or route issues. Responsibilities Safely operate automated side-load trucks on assigned residential and commercial routes Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings Use automated arm controls to collect waste and recycling containers Ensure proper dumping, handling, and transfer of collected materials Follow all DOT, OSHA, and local safety and environmental regulations Communicate route issues, delays, and hazards to dispatch or supervisors Provide courteous customer service and resolve basic service concerns on route Maintain accurate logs, tickets, and route documentation Report vehicle defects and coordinate with maintenance as required Support a safety-first, team-oriented work environment Required Skills Commercial driving Automated side-load truck operation Route navigation Vehicle inspection and maintenance Safety and DOT compliance Time management Basic equipment troubleshooting Customer service Recordkeeping/logging Knowledge of waste handling procedures
