In this essential, full-time role, you'll perform daily vehicle inspections, follow all DOT and GFL safety standards, and collect, load, and transport household waste and recyclables to designated facilities. You'll interact professionally with residents, navigate tight streets and alleys, and maintain accurate route and disposal records. Responsibilities Safely operate rear load collection truck on assigned residential routes Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues Collect, load, and transport residential waste and recyclables to approved facilities Follow all DOT, company, and local safety and environmental regulations Navigate tight residential streets and alleys while protecting people and property Use required PPE and follow GFL safety protocols at all times Maintain accurate route, load, and disposal documentation Provide professional, courteous service when interacting with residents Coordinate with dispatch and supervisors to address route changes or issues Support a clean, organized vehicle and work area at all times Required Skills Commercial truck driving Rear load waste collection operations DOT and road safety compliance Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance Route navigation and optimization Operation of hydraulic lift mechanisms Defensive driving in residential areas Time management on fixed routes Equipment and PPE safety practices Customer service on residential routes
