Job Description
The City of Perryville is currently accepting applications for a Refuse Truck Driver within the Street Department of Public Works. Your primary duties would include utilizing GPS mapping and route optimization software while driving and operating the trash truck to load and unload solid waste. Once trained, members of this team are required to participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule typically serving about one week every other month. Depending on qualifications, previous certifications may constitute a higher starting salary. City residency is not required; however, any prospective on-call employee shall reside within a 35-mile and 45-minute radius of their worksite. A strong preference will be given to applicants with the following skills, abilities and qualifications: Prior experience with GPS mapping and route optimization software (preferred) High school diploma or equivalent GED (required) Valid Missouri driver's license (required) Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement (required) Applicants who do not hold a CDL at the time of hire must be able to obtain as a condition of employment This position is open to the public as well as current City employees.
