Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License A Local Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely within local routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. As a vital link in our logistics chain, you will ensure timely deliveries, maintain excellent customer service, and uphold the highest standards of transportation safety and compliance. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across local routes, ensuring timely delivery of freight including hazardous materials and dangerous goods when qualified. Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, ensuring proper securing of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, or tanker contents in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to follow designated routes and optimize delivery schedules. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on tractor-trailers and other equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Load, secure, transport, and unload freight while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations for truck loading/unloading procedures. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and records in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly. Skills Valid Commercial Driver's License A with relevant endorsements for refrigerated trailers, hazmat, tanker, or flatbed operations preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, route driving, delivery driving, or over-the-road (OTR) routes. Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, hazardous materials regulations, DOT regulations, and safety standards for transporting dangerous goods. Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time navigation adjustments. Ability to handle freight manually with proper lifting techniques while maintaining safety standards. Excellent driving skills with experience operating tractor-trailers or trucks with manual transmission. Knowledge of logistics cargo handling including load & unload procedures for various types of freight such as freight containers or specialized cargo like refrigerated goods or tanker loads.
