Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic transportation team as a Truck Driver, where your expertise in commercial truck driving will keep goods moving efficiently and safely across diverse routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a semi and hopper bottom and ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. As a key player in our logistics network, you will be responsible for transporting freight over the road (OTR), managing cargo handling, and maintaining excellent customer service throughout every delivery. Your dedication and skill will drive our success and help us deliver excellence every mile of the way. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial semi and with a hopper bottom trailer, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations Plan and navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries across over-the-road (OTR) routes Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, utilizing equipment such as forklifts when necessary for cargo safety and efficiency Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, inspection reports, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or unforeseen delays; provide excellent customer service during deliveries Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving with tractor-trailers or similar large vehicles Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including freight handling for various cargo types such as refrigerated goods or hazardous materials Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR driving routes Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and confidently Understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and hazardous materials regulations Experience with different types of trucks and hopper bottoms Strong manual handling skills for safe load & unload operations; physical ability to lift heavy cargo when required. Ability to open hopper bottom and assist loading truck with grain form time to time.
