Job Overview Join our team as a Roll-Off Driver and/or Trash Truck Driver, where your energetic driving skills and commitment to safety will keep communities clean and waste management efficient. In this vital role, you will operate specialized commercial trucks—such as roll-off trucks, front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, and garbage trucks—delivering outstanding service while adhering to all safety and traffic regulations. Your proactive approach will ensure timely pickups, safe load handling, and excellent customer interactions. This position offers a dynamic outdoor work environment where your mechanical knowledge and driving expertise directly contribute to community well-being. Responsibilities Safely operate various commercial trucks including roll-off, rear loader garbage trucks, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and state transportation regulations. Load, unload, and secure waste materials efficiently while complying with hazardous materials regulations when necessary. Drive route schedules confidently, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries across designated municipal waste management routes. Perform routine vehicle inspections and basic mechanical checks to maintain optimal truck performance; report any issues promptly. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including air brake operation and hazard awareness, to prevent accidents or injuries during daily tasks. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during pickups and drop-offs; address questions or concerns courteously. Maintain accurate logs of routes driven, loads collected or delivered, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with DOT regulations. Assist with manual lifting of waste containers or heavy loads as required, demonstrating physical readiness for outdoor work environments. Experience Prior experience operating commercial trucks such as roll-off trucks, garbage trucks, or rear loaders is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, safety protocols, and heavy lifting techniques in an outdoor work setting. Roll-Off driver must have experience backing up trailers Trash Truck driver must have a Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for air brake operation. Proven track record in route driving or delivery driver roles within solid waste management or municipal waste services preferred Familiarity with mechanical knowledge related to truck maintenance and basic repairs is advantageous. Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws governing commercial vehicle operation. Excellent defensive driving skills combined with a commitment to safety protocol adherence in busy outdoor environments.
