Job Description

Position Summary:
The Live Haul Truck Driver is responsible for operating a commercial vehicle with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport live poultry or related materials to and from designated locations in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and company regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates a commercial motor vehicle safely and in compliance with all DOT and company regulations. Completes and maintains driver logs and other required documentation. Maintains regular communication with the supervisor for instructions and updates. Performs pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting any issues promptly. Ensures cleanliness of truck compartments to prevent contamination. Assists with load/unload procedures and operational support as needed. Keeps truck interior and exterior clean and presentable. Complies with all company safety rules and procedures. Maintains a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements and a current DOT physical. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the following requirements.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred. One to three months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements. Must maintain current DOT medical certification . Must meet company insurability requirements.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and understand written instructions, delivery forms, and basic correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and team members.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind. Exposed to dust, odors, fumes, and airborne particles. Occasionally near moving mechanical parts or equipment. Subject to moderate noise levels consistent with truck operations and poultry facilities.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Frequently required to sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, walk, reach, talk, and hear. Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally required to kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl. Required to use hands and arms for loading, securing cargo, and other job tasks. Required to have vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
