Responsibilities Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and dump trucks to transport freight across multiple routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklift or roll-off truck equipment when necessary, ensuring all loads are secured properly for transit. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any issues promptly. Manage route driving responsibilities with precision, adhering to schedules while maintaining safety at all times. Handle freight with care, ensuring proper handling of refrigerated goods or specialized loads such as tanker liquids or flatbed cargo. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for compliance purposes. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery times and resolve any issues that arise during transit. Requirements Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record. Proven experience in straight-shift truck driving. Proficiency in manual transmission operation and familiarity with various trailer types such as flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks. Ability to load & unload freight using forklifts or other equipment safely and efficiently. Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo handling. Strong route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing schedules or road conditions. Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle cargo loading tasks.
