Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers while adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Plan and follow efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and reduce transit times. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured correctly for transport. Transport various types of freight such as hazardous materials (hazmat), dangerous goods, and general freight across long-distance OTR routes. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo manifests in compliance with DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate deliveries, report issues promptly, and update delivery statuses. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, preferably with route driving or delivery driver roles involving freight transportation. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (Hazmat) and proper manual handling procedures for cargo handling. Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with endorsements relevant to the vehicle type operated; experience with manual transmission is a plus. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT safety standards, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times. Demonstrated ability to navigate using GPS systems efficiently on over-the-road (OTR) routes while maintaining safety on the road.
