Non-Exempt SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Traffic Manager, the Local Long Distance Driver transports finished furniture goods over the road to LEE customers, LEE plant locations and/or distribution centers.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safe and Efficient Trailer Movement:
Maneuver semi-trailers within the yard and plants ensuring smooth and safe operations. Move trailers between warehouses and other locations. Position trailers at dock doors for loading and unloading. Straight truck driving required as needed and over the road trips will be required as needed. Conduct routine inspections of the tractor and trailers to ensure safe operating conditions. Communicate effectively with other drivers and warehouse personnel to coordinate activities. Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. Assist with loading and unloading trailers Required to work in the warehouse and showroom as needed Manage trailer inventory locations All other duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES 3
to 5 years' experience required A valid CDL driver's license and a clean driving record required Ability to maneuver large vehicles in tight spaces. Keen eye for detail in inspecting equipment and ensuring safety. Ability to perform tasks that involve lifting and moving Ability to address issues that may arise and communicate effectively with others. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work in a fast-paced environment.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED preferred Ability to work full-time EFFORT Able to lift, carry, push or pull at least 50 lbs Ability to sit for extended period of time (8-12 hours) Able to drive long hours and travel regularly (8-12 hours) Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouching Must meet DOT standards for vision and hearing, including the ability to read road signs, navigate GPS, and hear warning signals.
