Job Description

Vac Truck Driver & Operator Responsibilities:
This position is both a driving and physically demanding position: This role combines commercial driving with specialized equipment operation and requires a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance Duties include driving and operating the vacuum truck throughout the workday safely and efficiently: Requires driving from the shop to job sites daily, flushing and cleaning storm and sanitary sewer lines, primarily on new, unused pipelines not in service yet Perform hydro excavation, pipeline cleaning, catch basin cleaning and manhole cleaning: Cleaning may occasionally be performed on an active sewer service or main for warranty or emergency work Daily duties include lifting manhole covers and storm grates to access structures for cleaning Hydro excavation (potholing) is done occasionally as well Conduct pre-trip and post trip vehicle and equipment inspections Complete daily vehicle and equipment inspection reports Follow OSHA, DOT and company safety policies Perform routine PM maintenance, cleaning and minor repairs on truck and equipment Wear and maintain required PPE Transport collected material to the dump location and dispose Properly care for all tools and equipment
Position Requirements Include:
Valid CDL with tanker endorsement and air brakes is required Prior experience operating vacuum trucks/vacuum trailers is required Clean driving record is required Occasional Saturday work availability
Physical Requirements Include:
Lift 50 - 75 lbs. regularly Enter/Exit truck frequently Work outdoors in all weather conditions Bend, kneel, squat for extended periods Work in and around traffic and on construction sites Work in confined spaces
