In this energetic role, you will operate specialized tow trucks to assist stranded or immobilized vehicles, ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining safety standards. Your mechanical aptitude and customer service skills will drive your success as you navigate diverse situations with confidence and professionalism. Responsibilities Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles of various sizes and types. Perform automotive diagnostics and basic repairs when necessary to prepare vehicles for transport or address minor issues on-site. Load and unload vehicles efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches, ensuring secure transport. Engage with customers courteously, providing clear communication regarding services, estimated times, and safety procedures. Manage conflict situations professionally, resolving customer concerns with patience and effective problem-solving skills. Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks and related equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Maintain detailed logs of all recoveries, loads, unloads, and service activities for accurate recordkeeping. Qualifications Proven experience in automotive repair, diagnostics, or mechanical work is highly desirable. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmissions is preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including familiarity with automotive systems and troubleshooting techniques. Experience operating tow trucks, flatbeds, forklifts, or other heavy-duty equipment is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts effectively while maintaining professionalism. Ability to load and unload vehicles safely using appropriate tools and techniques. Prior experience in commercial driving or related roles demonstrating reliability and safety awareness.
