Job Description
Job Overview L & L U-Pull It is looking for a motivated, dependable, and experienced Tow Truck Driver / Rollback Driver to join our team! In this position, you will be responsible for picking up junk and unwanted vehicles directly from the public and transporting them safely back to our facility. This is a fast-paced position that requires someone who can work efficiently, stay organized, and maintain a steady pace throughout the day to help keep scheduled pickups running on time. Our drivers typically work within a 30-40 mile radius, focusing mainly on local pickups. You will be operating rollback/tow equipment, loading vehicles, taking required photos and information, paying customers, and safely transporting vehicles back to the yard. No CDL is required, but previous towing, rollback, hauling, or vehicle recovery experience is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Safely operate a rollback/tow truck to pick up and transport junk vehicles. Travel to scheduled vehicle pickups within our local 30-40 mile service area. Inspect vehicles upon arrival and verify that they match the information provided. Take required pictures and documentation of each vehicle and necessary information before transport. Properly load, secure, and transport vehicles back to our facility. Pay customers for their vehicles as instructed by the company. Maintain a steady and efficient work pace to help ensure all scheduled pickups are completed on time. Safely operate towing and recovery equipment. Identify important vehicle components, including catalytic converters, and recognize when vehicles may have missing or altered components. Safely and properly haul doubles when needed. Follow all company procedures regarding vehicle documentation, payments, photos, and transportation. Maintain the truck and equipment in a clean and safe working condition. Communicate with dispatch and management regarding pickups, delays, vehicle issues, or schedule changes. Provide professional and respectful service when interacting with customers. Schedule Monday through Saturday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Some days may run slightly past 5:00 PM depending on the distance and timing of the final scheduled pickup. This position requires someone who understands that staying on schedule and maintaining a productive pace throughout the day is important. Requirements Previous experience operating a rollback, tow truck, or hauling vehicles is preferred. No CDL required. Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record. Must have experience or knowledge of safely loading and securing vehicles. Must know how to haul doubles safely and confidently. Must be able to identify catalytic converters and recognize missing or altered vehicle components. Must be comfortable working independently and managing multiple scheduled pickups throughout the day. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a steady work pace. Must be able to safely work in various weather conditions and around damaged or non-running vehicles. Basic automotive knowledge is preferred. Strong attention to detail when taking pictures, documenting vehicle information, and completing required paperwork. Pay Pay will be discussed during the hiring process and will be based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's level of experience.
