Part-Time CDL Truck Driver & Event Logistics Team Member Shop Closet | Women's Clothing Pop-Up Events About Shop Closet Shop Closet is a rapidly growing women's clothing resale business that hosts curated pop-up shopping events throughout the Southeast and beyond. We transport thousands of pieces of clothing and build large-scale shopping experiences in different cities each weekend. Rather than delivering traditional freight, you will be transporting an entire retail store—from clothing racks and fitting rooms to checkout stations and inventory—and helping bring each event to life. We currently host events in cities including: Clemson, SC Columbia, SC Charleston, SC Charlotte, NC Raleigh, NC Athens, GA Atlanta, GA Oxford, MS Nashville, TN Knoxville, TN Birmingham, AL Tuscaloosa, AL Auburn, AL Dallas, TX As our company continues to grow, we are looking for dependable CDL drivers who enjoy travel, manual work, and being part of an energetic event team. Position Overview This is a part-time, weekend-based position perfect for someone looking for additional income throughout the year. We host approximately 15 events annually , and drivers typically work only on scheduled event weekends.
This position combines:
Driving a 26-foot Penske box truck Loading and unloading equipment Assisting with event setup and teardown Working alongside local event labor crews Traveling throughout the Southeast This is an active role. We are looking for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in staying organized, and is comfortable lifting, loading, unloading, and driving. What You Will Be Transporting Each event requires transporting an entire mobile retail store, including: Approximately 30 rolling clothing racks filled with inventory Thousands of pieces of women's clothing Large Husky storage bins filled with merchandise and supplies Portable fitting rooms/changing rooms Mirrors Checkout stations Tables Retail displays Event signage Shopping bags Event supplies Various pop-up fixtures and equipment All equipment is loaded carefully into our 26-foot Penske truck and unloaded upon arrival. Typical Event Weekend Although every event is slightly different, a typical weekend may look like: Thursday Meet at our storage facility in the Huntersville, North Carolina area Load the truck with event inventory and equipment Assist with organizing and securing all freight Drive to the event city Check into hotel Friday Unload the truck Assist with event setup Work alongside local labor hired for setup Event operates approximately 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Reload truck after the event Drive to the next city (or remain overnight depending on schedule) Saturday Travel day or rest day between events Sunday Unload truck Help set up second event Event operates approximately 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Tear down event Reload truck Drive back toward Charlotte Monday (occasionally) Unload truck at storage facility Drivers are generally away from home from Thursday evening through Sunday evening , depending on travel distance and event schedule. Responsibilities Safely operate a 26-foot Penske box truck. Drive throughout the Southeast for scheduled events. Load and unload event equipment safely and efficiently. Secure all cargo properly before transport. Assist with event setup and breakdown. Work alongside local labor crews to move equipment quickly and safely. Maintain a clean, organized truck throughout each trip. Communicate with the Shop Closet team throughout the weekend. Help ensure every event is ready to open on time. Follow all DOT and safety regulations while driving and handling equipment. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is: Reliable Hardworking Physically strong Efficient Self-motivated Organized Positive and professional Comfortable working long but rewarding event days Able to lift heavy bins, clothing racks, and equipment Comfortable working indoors and outdoors Willing to travel on weekends This position is ideal for someone who enjoys staying active rather than sitting behind the wheel all day.
Qualifications Required:
Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) Clean driving record Experience driving larger commercial vehicles or box trucks Ability to safely load and secure cargo Ability to lift bins and materials Comfortable driving several hours between cities
Preferred:
Event logistics experience Warehouse or moving experience Manual labor experience Box truck or commercial delivery experience Basic mechanical knowledge Travel & Expenses Shop Closet covers all work-related travel expenses, including: Hotel accommodations Fuel Truck expenses A $60 daily food stipend for each day you are traveling and away from home You will never be expected to pay for travel costs associated with work.
