Bring Vehicle:
Reliable vehicle (van, SUV, or pickup with cargo shell) with a minimum of 120 cubic feet of usable, enclosed, lockable, weatherproof cargo space Roof-mounted warning light, visible from all directions (magnetic/temporary is fine) Ability to maintain the vehicle in good working order for the life of the contract Current, valid vehicle liability insurance You, personally: At least 18 years old Minimum 2 years' licensed driving experience Clean driving record (a 5-year MVR will be required; 3-year where that's all your state issues) Able to pass USPS contractor screening: background/criminal history check, fingerprinting, and photo ID — required before you can begin work Basic spoken and written English proficiency (you'll interact directly with postal staff and customers) A cell phone for two-way communication while on route Comfortable working outdoors and reporting for duty in most weather conditions Professional, courteous, reliable — this is a public-facing federal contract; no exceptions on conduct or punctuality Compensation This is a 1099 independent contractor position — you're responsible for your own taxes, vehicle costs, and insurance. No benefits are provided.
