Job Overview Kersten Construction is looking for a

RELIABLE

Shop Runner/Yard Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our construction crews by running materials, parts and tools to/from job sites, as well as assisting with preventative maintenance in our shop/yard. This position offers an opportunity to be hands-on with light equipment operation, material handling and general maintenance. Typical hours are Monday - Friday 7:00am to 5:30 pm. Hours are not guaranteed and may vary due to weather/seasonal changes. Responsibilities Transport construction tools, materials, shop parts and other construction items to/from job sites. Operate light equipment such as skid steers, pallet jack and non-CDL trucks while following safety protocols for loading/unloading Load, strap and unload materials safely and efficiently while following DOT regulations Washing and cleaning/detailing shop vehicles and other equipment Maintain a clean, organized yard and shop environment by sweeping, emptying trash, clearing workbenches and putting away tools and other supplies each day to promote a safe work area and operational efficiency Assist in routine servicing of shop tools and other equipment as needed Maintain property by mowing, trimming, spraying, etc....as needed Notify management when shop supplies are low Qualifications High School diploma or GED Must be 18 or older VALID drivers license with CLEAN driving record

REQUIRED

Initiative to complete routine tasks without being told Relevant hands-on experience proving knowledge of construction tools and general construction safety Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting safely (50lbs from floor to truck repeatedly) Working knowledge of basic preventative maintenance Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying products/materials Ability to read a tape measure
