Job Description
The Northfield Public Works Department is now currently seeking a Truck Driver / Light Equipment Operator / Building & Grounds Attendant to fill a Full-Time position. Applications will be accepted at any time with no closing date for submission. The position is responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment used for road projects and other projects, manual labor incidental to equipment operation, and unskilled and semi-skilled work on construction and maintenance projects. The successful candidate must hold a valid CDL B, be able to understand and give oral and written instructions, perform routine manual labor, perform prolonged heavy physical labor, operate trucks and heavy equipment, operate a plow with wing, and perform routine maintenance on equipment, establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with fellow employees, and deal effectively with the public. High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience in the operation and maintenance of relevant equipment, or any combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities, the physical ability to perform the required tasks and possession of a valid CDL B Driver's License plus medical card.
