DRIVER, NON CDL
Position Summary Drivers are responsible for delivering and picking up goods to customers and clients and assists helpers with the unloading and loading, in the most efficient, safest and professional manner. Duties & Responsibilities Drives in a safe manner following state and local and federal regulations Performs daily pre and post trip safety inspection, reporting any deficiencies to appropriate personnel Follows the delivery and pickup route as outlined in route sheet. Assists helpers with the loading and unloading of merchandise to customer locations Ensures that contact is made with person responsible for order and that goods are delivered to the location indicated on the contract. Reports any damaged/short-shipped merchandise to the Dispatcher in charge of route prior to leaving location. Reports blind "Box Counts" and send pictures of deliveries. Maintains active communication and follow instruction/changes as relayed by Dispatcher Secures all merchandise by using straps and repositioning equipment to Ensure that equipment arrives at location/warehouse intact. Uses appropriate equipment to transport merchandise Completes all necessary paperwork and maintain DOT logs according to state and federal regulations Knowledge, Skill and Abilities Valid/Clean driver's license Minimum 1 year's experience driving straight trucks, cube trucks and commercial vans Ability to carry, push and pull a minimum of 50 to 80 pounds on a regular basis and/or while being assisted by others Ability to deal politely and professionally with customers, customer representatives, guards, other personnel at location and Co-workers Ability to work long hours and/or varying shifts (day, evening, night, weekends and Holidays) Working knowledge of 5 boroughs (NY)Schedules Available:
Monday to Friday 6:00 am- 2:30 pm & Saturday 6:00 am
- 12:30 pm; Monday to Friday 9:30 am
- 6:00 pm & Saturday 6:00 am
- 12:30 pm; Monday to Friday 12:00 pm
- 8:30 pm & Saturday 12:00 pm
- 6:00 pm
