In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting freight, goods, and cargo across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong driving record, excellent navigation skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of our distribution operations, delivering essential goods efficiently and reliably. Responsibilities Operate a variety of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Safely load, secure, transport, and unload freight or cargo using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment. Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems while adhering to scheduled delivery timelines across over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues or damages. Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, shipments, load & unload records, and compliance logs. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight delivery across various routes. Strong knowledge of truck loading and unloading procedures, including logistics cargo handling. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation methods. Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently while adhering to safety standards. Excellent route planning skills utilizing GPS navigation tools for efficient delivery execution. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazard communication standards, and hazardous materials regulations.
