BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The road department is charged with the maintenance of county road utilizing a variety of equipment. Hand operated tools are also utilized in the performance of this job. Employee must perform all duties with minimal supervision. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County and complete and pass a new-hire physical and drug screen. This position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. The Road Manager Carlsbad, Road Manager Artesia, and Sandpoint Manager all have equal authority to direct your work schedule at any time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED certificate

One year Class A CDL truck driving experience required.

Must successfully pass criminal and employment background investigations. Eligibility to work in the U.S. verified thru E-Verify

All job offers are contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Must have, or ability to obtain, a current valid NM Class A Commercial Driver's License and be insurable by the County Insurance Authority.

MUST PROVIDE A CURRENT DRIVING RECORD

Effective oral and written communication skills in English required.

Must live in or be willing to relocate to the area where the vacancy occurs within 30 days. Must be knowledgeable of all traffic laws and regulations

Ability to perform the essential duties as listed above in the working conditions with the tools, equipment and materials listed below

This position is subject to random drug testing in accordance with DOT standards

MAY BE SUBJECT TO SECURITY CLEARANCE BY FINGER PRINTING AND BACKGROUND CHECK BY NCIC.
