This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including dry van and flatbed trailers, while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. As a vital link in our logistics chain, you'll enjoy the satisfaction of ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and route navigation will drive our success forward! Duties Safely operate tractor-trailers, including dry vans and flatbeds, on local delivery routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques or forklift equipment, ensuring cargo is properly secured for transit Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency on over-the-road (OTR) driving routes within local areas Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods following hazardous materials regulations when required Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues, proper load securement, and compliance with DOT regulations Deliver freight accurately to designated locations, managing delivery documentation and obtaining signatures as proof of delivery Maintain logs of driving hours, cargo manifests, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations Skills Proven experience with commercial truck driving, including tractor-trailer operations with manual transmission vehicles Knowledge of flatbed trailer handling, freight securing techniques, and logistics cargo handling procedures Familiarity with refrigerated trailers for temperature-sensitive deliveries when applicable Strong route planning skills utilizing GPS navigation tools for efficient deliveries within local markets Ability to load & unload freight safely using manual handling equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary Understanding of DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods Excellent driving skills with a clean record in commercial driving environments; experience with automobile transportation is a plus Ability to comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations at all times Join us if you're passionate about professional trucking!
