USD Hourly Job Summary:

The Driver, CDL Class B is responsible for transporting product and equipment from and to warehouses, stores and other designated locations. All driver candidates must give us a 10 year work history per DOT requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Drive truck to assigned jobs, and successfully complete customer requests in a timely manner. Pre and post trip inspect Commercial Motor Vehicles. Put empty carts and pallets in trailer. Deliver product to destination. Travel both over the road and regional distances. Maintain safe vehicle and conditions. Protect load by complying with organization policies and procedures and highway rules and regulations. Maintain records by completing driver log; obtaining shipper and receiver authorizations; filing documents

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE

High School Diploma/GED preferred. Bachelor's or Business Degree preferred. At least 2 years of experience in related field required. Must be at least 25 years of age. Class "B" Commercial Driver's License required with Tanker endorsement Ability to pass functional assessment and vehicle, and drug test. Must be free of violation points and traffic violations for 3 years prior. Must maintain all driver qualifications required by FMCSR part 391 Must not have been disqualified/unqualified as a CMV driver for a drug/alcohol offense within the last 10 years. Must not have been convicted of a felony during the last 10 years. Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people. Ability to effectively organize and coordinate multiple priorities; ability to work well as a team leader; ability to problem-solve. Strong customer service abilities; actively looks for ways to assist customers and coworkers.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit. Typically bends, lifts, carries, reaches/extends arms and hands above shoulder height occasionally, or otherwise moves in a constantly changing environment. Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 25 lbs. regularly, 30-35 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day, driving a commercial tractor-trailer, and to climb steps regularly. Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor (freezing temperatures) and outdoor environments. Reading and writing work-related documents in English. Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of customers and co-workers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by customers and co-workers in English. Constantly communicates and receives verbal communication with other employees in fast-paced environment. Normal hearing and vision. Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.
