Job Description
Safety-Kleen, a Clean Harbors company, is seeking a Class B CDL Route Relief Driver to support our Environmental Services operations within the Transportation & Logistics team. In this role, you will safely operate Class B vehicles to provide route coverage, collecting used oil, waste, and parts-cleaning materials from commercial and industrial customers. You'll follow strict DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations, complete inspections and manifests, and ensure proper handling and loading of materials. This position is ideal for safety-focused drivers who value teamwork, environmental responsibility, and long-term career growth. Responsibilities Operate Class B CDL truck on established routes to service customer locations safely and efficiently Perform route relief coverage for drivers, adapting to varying schedules, customers, and service types Transport and pick up used oil, waste, and parts-cleaning materials in compliance with DOT and environmental regulations Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain accurate manifests, logs, and service documentation Ensure proper loading, securing, labeling, and segregation of materials in accordance with company and regulatory requirements Communicate professionally with dispatch, operations, and customers to resolve service issues Follow all Safety-Kleen and Clean Harbors safety protocols, PPE requirements, and spill response procedures Support continuous improvement, housekeeping, and equipment care at branch and customer locations Required Skills Class B commercial vehicle operation DOT compliance and hours-of-service knowledge Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections Hazardous materials handling and segregation Load securement and material handling (drums, totes, hoses) Completion of manifests, bills of lading, and route paperwork Basic spill response and emergency procedures Route driving and time management Customer service and professional communication Use of onboard computers, ELDs, or handheld devices
