Position details:

1st Shift - Paid OT (after an 8-hour shift) when required. Responsibilities The Yard Jockey/Switcher's primary responsibility is to bring trailers to and from our loading docks to be loaded/unloaded and drop empties in our yard and warehouse. Drives a Yard-Horse Single-Seat Tractor Back 53trailers to Loading Docks Performs Safety Checks on all trailers as they are moved Opens and Closes Bay Doors Maintains constant contact with supervisors for priorities Safely operate yard-horse single-seat tractor and tractor-trailers with manual transmissions to move trailers within the yard to designated loading or unloading areas Handle 53' trailers and other specialized equipment as needed Position trailers for delivery routes or storage, ensuring proper placement for efficient operations Conduct routine inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues Assist with route driving tasks when necessary, supporting delivery drivers in completing their schedules Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, load status, and yard activities to ensure seamless operations Keep close communication with Shipping Department, Managers and Supervisors Follow inventory instruction on Tablet Takes a daily trailer inventory Attendance, Timeliness and Safe Operation are

Critical Trucking Driver Type:

Company driver Requirements At least 2 years Switcher/Yard Jockey experience Valid commercial driver's license (CDL A) with experience driving tractor-trailers and manual transmissions Ability to load & unload freight efficiently while following safety guidelines Experience backing up 53' trailers with precision is necessary Driving safety-conscious operations while supporting efficient freight movement within our yard is essential. We prioritize safety compliance and professional growth for all team members, and we are committed to excellence in commercial truck driving and yard management

Pay:

$28.75 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
