Driver Job Description This role involves operating a 26-foot box truck to complete scheduled local and regional deliveries, pickups, and site runs while supporting warehouse shipping and receiving operations when not on the road. The driver safely loads, unloads, and transports materials between company and customer locations, working closely with the warehouse team to ensure accurate and timely deliveries. Responsibilities Operate a 26-foot box truck to complete scheduled local deliveries, pickups, and site runs throughout the region. Safely load and unload materials and transport products between company and customer locations. Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including staging and material movement, when not performing deliveries. Use pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to move materials safely and efficiently. Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure orders are accurately prepared and delivered on time. Perform vehicle inspections and basic upkeep to ensure the truck remains in safe operating condition. Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety policies while driving and handling materials. Manage multiple stops in a day, maintaining schedules while adapting to traffic and road conditions. Handle materials safely, using pallet jacks or team lifts for items over 30 pounds. Support general logistics and transport tasks as needed within the warehouse and on delivery routes. Essential Skills Valid driver's license. Valid DOT medical card for operating box trucks. Clean driving record. 6+ months of professional driving, delivery, transportation, or similar experience preferred. Experience operating a van, pickup, box truck, or other non-CDL commercial vehicle preferred. Comfort with frequent driving, multiple stops, and loading and unloading materials. Ability to assist with shipping and receiving operations in a warehouse environment. Ability to safely use pallet jacks and basic warehouse equipment. Strong attention to safety and adherence to DOT regulations. Ability to perform general labor tasks related to production, transport, and logistics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience driving a 26-foot box truck preferred; experience with an 18-foot truck is acceptable. Forklift experience is a plus. Forklift certification or training is preferred. Experience using electric pallet jacks is preferred. Warehouse, shipping, and receiving experience is a plus. Experience working in logistics, transport, or general labor environments. Comfort working both independently on the road and collaboratively with a warehouse team. Why Work Here? The position requires comfort with changing traffic and road conditions and the ability to work independently while on the road. Dress typically includes appropriate work attire suitable for warehouse and driving duties, along with safety footwear supported by the boot allowance program. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopewell Junction, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
