If you are ready to enjoy going to work every day, come grow with us! Almstead Nursery is seeking a dependable and organized Class A CDL truck driver, for our landscape materials operation. The ideal candidate possesses physical and mental stamina, thrives on the road, and consistently ensures safe and accurate deliveries. The CDL Driver will regularly make deliveries in Westchester, Dutchess and Columbia counties, and haul between our Westchester and Columbia county locations. Job Duties & Responsibilities Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 86,000 lbs. The ability to drive a 2021 Kenworth Tractor Trailer with a 48 foot trailer Experience driving a roll-off, manual transmission Pick-up loads and organize goods in an ordered, logical manner Safely and efficiently handle goods during loading and delivery Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clients Assist in mapping and adhering to delivery routes, factoring in seasonal weather patterns Communicate with dispatch as needed Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip Ensure your vehicle is kept to a high level of cleanliness Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.) Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs Track and report working hours Comply with ICC and DOT regulations Make safety a priority at all times
