About VP Supply Corp VP Supply Corp is a leading distributor of plumbing, HVAC, industrial, and electrical supplies. With 60 years of experience and multiple locations, we are committed to providing exceptional service and quality products to our customers. Our high-volume CDC (Central Distribution Center) will be the backbone of product movement within our 15-branch network, consolidating inventory replenishment, accelerating product flow, and driving operational efficiency. The top priority will be to ensure product moves accurately and efficiently out to and between the branches. The CDC will support high throughput, consistent product availability and reliable delivery, thereby reducing friction in the supply chain, and allowing our branches to provide outstanding customer service.
Position Overview:
Our CDC is seeking to hire a CDL Delivery Driver with 1-3 years of experience operating combination vehicles over 26,000 lbs, with towed units over 10,000 lbs such as Tractor-trailers or semis. We are looking for high performers with a strong sense of autonomy, solutions oriented, and with a focus on safety as a priority. This is an overnight position. The schedule would be Sunday - Thursday 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and logs routes for overnight delivery trucks, with focus on delivery time commitments. Hands-on loading and unloading of product that is received into individual daily routes and secure loads. Move skids using a manual pallet jack, hand truck, and lift gate. Complete and maintain paperwork from the night's work including inter-branch transfers and truck logs. Provide information to Dispatcher throughout the night, such as delivery times and picture capture. Ensure truck cab and bed are emptied and cleaned daily at the end of every shift. Prepare and schedule maintenance on vehicles to determine needed repairs or inspections.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
1-3 years of experience operating combination vehicles over 26,000 lbs, with towed units over 10,000 lbs (e.g., Tractor-trailers, semis). Experience with using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and liftgates. Territorial knowledge of Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo, Albany and surrounding areas. Ability to climb on and off the back of a truck, using side steps. Must be able to undergo a motor vehicle and background check. Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location.
