Job Description

At Gold Star, we offer feed and nutrition services and commodity trading in the northeastern U.S., primarily to dairies. As feed and commodity specialists, our customers count on us to originate feed for the mills, manufacture it according to their unique specifications and handle logistics for a safe and smooth delivery every time.
Job Summary:
Class A driver will organize, perform and complete the delivery of commercial bulk and bagged feeds in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate truck in a safe and courteous manner. Safety is first in importance in every delivery task. Maintain truck to include but not limited to pre-trip checks, following required DOT and other regulatory agency requirements. Responsible for cleanliness of truck including regular washing and cleaning of exterior and interior. Loads, reloads and assists other driving in loading as required. Inspects hatches, augers and blowers to confirm they are operational and serviceable. Responsible for ensuring feed is unloaded to the proper location/bin. Ensures accuracy and proper completion of all scale tickets, delivery papers, driver logs and associated documentation. Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Licenses:
Valid class A Commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements. Current DMV printout required as part of application process. Driving record must meet minimum risk management requirements.
Experience:
2+years driving experience required. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills to include being courteous and safe on the customer's property, public roads and company property.
Physical Demands:
Demonstrate sound judgement in the operation of vehicle. Pull, twist, bend and lift 35 pounds to shoulder height as a repeated motion. Climb in and out of tractor using proper 3 points of contract. Sit for up to 11 hours per day. Operate vehicle in all weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, sitting all day. Regular and predictable attendance in office or site location. Local area travel required.

From $29.00 per hour
