Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and experienced Local CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers within local routes, delivering freight efficiently, and maintaining excellent customer service. This position offers the opportunity to work close to home with a focus on safety, professionalism, and timely deliveries. Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class A license and have experience with various types of freight transportation. This position requires some hours flexibility within reason, but schedule will mostly consist of afternoon/PM work. Duties Operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated local routes Transport single 53' or double pups or other specialized trailers as needed Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety standards Follow all federal, state, and company regulations regarding commercial driving and safety protocols Maintain proper documentation for deliveries, logs, and compliance records Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate delivery schedules Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and fuel usage Skills Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record Experience driving tractor-trailers including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, doubles. Proficiency in manual transmission driving preferred Strong knowledge of freight handling, load & unload procedures, and route driving logistics. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and adherence to traffic laws Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable Good communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and customers Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during local routes
