Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced CDL A Driver specialized in Sand Hauling to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport sand and related materials across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle logistics cargo will ensure timely deliveries and excellent service. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers with flatbed, tanker, or dump truck configurations for hauling sand and other bulk materials. Navigate using GPS systems and plan routes efficiently for timely deliveries across OTR routes. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of heavy materials with manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary. Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous goods handling protocols. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in accordance with regulatory standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues promptly. Requirements Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers used for freight or construction materials. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks is a plus. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance, hazardous materials regulations, and safe load & unload procedures. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems confidently for route planning on OTR routes. Experience with manual transmission trucks preferred; strong manual handling skills required. Capable of manual loading/unloading cargo safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary. Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, hazard awareness, and adherence to DOT regulations.
