Overview Join our dynamic, goal orriented team as a Class B CDL Garbage Truck Driver and play a vital role in maintaining clean, healthy communities! In this energetic position, you will operate specialized Rear Load waste collection trucks to efficiently pick up and transport municipal or commercial waste. Your expertise will ensure safe, reliable service while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols. Duties Safely operate Class B commercial trucks equipped with rear loaders or roll-off mechanisms to collect and transport waste materials. Load and unload garbage containers using rear-end loaders or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling and secure placement. Follow designated routes for efficient collection while complying with all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and safety standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including air brake systems and mechanical components, to ensure optimal performance. Maintain accurate records of pickups, routes completed, and any incidents or mechanical issues encountered during shifts using software system in truck. Communicate effectively and productively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate route adjustments, events, and address service concerns. Adhere strictly to hazardous materials regulations when handling special waste types and follow safety protocols for outdoor work environments. Requirements Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)- No restrictions preferred but not required. Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks such as garbage trucks, roll-off trucks, or rear loader trucks. Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and state transportation laws related to commercial driving. Ability to communicate with team Mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle inspections and basic troubleshooting of mechanical issues. Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly when loading or unloading waste containers. Strong attention to detail and practicing care and consideration when completing duties Demonstrated commitment to safety protocol adherence and hazard awareness in outdoor work settings. Prior experience with solid waste management or municipal waste collection is highly desirable.
