Contract Lumber is seeking a reliable Class A CDL Driver to safely transport building materials to homebuilders and job sites across Ohio. In this full-time role, you'll operate late-model tractors and flatbed or box trailers, secure and unload lumber and framing packages, and complete accurate delivery paperwork. You'll work closely with dispatch, yard, and field teams to maintain on-time, damage-free deliveries while following DOT and company safety standards. Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to deliver building materials to job sites and customer locations across Ohio Inspect trucks and equipment before and after trips, reporting and documenting maintenance issues Secure, tarp, and protect lumber, truss, and framing loads to prevent damage in transit Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment while following safety procedures Follow all DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and company safety policies Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, logs, and electronic records as required Communicate effectively with dispatch, yard staff, and customers regarding delivery times and site conditions Represent Contract Lumber professionally at customer sites, promoting courteous, service-focused interactions Assist with yard, staging, and routing tasks as needed to support logistics efficiency Required Skills Class A CDL truck operation DOT and FMCSA compliance Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance checks Flatbed and load securement Forklift and material handling equipment operation Paperwork and electronic log management Route planning and time management Knowledge of building materials handling Defensive driving and safety practices Customer communication and service
