This role plays a vital part in ensuring reliable, timely, and safe transportation while maintaining a positive and supportive environment for all individuals and passengers. Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles to complete morning and afternoon transportation routes. Transport individuals from the center, home locations, and community outings. Ensure all individuals are safely secured, including use of seatbelts and any necessary adaptive equipment. Assist individuals with entering and exiting the vehicle, including light physical assistance when needed. Maintain a calm, respectful, and supportive environment during transport. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company transportation policies. Perform basic vehicle checks (fuel levels, cleanliness, reporting maintenance concerns). Enter route numbers into online portal at the end of each route. Keep vehicles clean, organized, and ready for daily use. Communicate effectively with staff and families regarding schedules, delays, or concerns. Requirements Valid driver's license and auto insurance Ability to safely operate vans or larger passenger vehicles Comfortable working with individuals with disabilities and varying support needs Ability to assist with mobility support as needed Must be reliable and available for both morning and afternoon routes Strong time management and dependability Ability to pass background check, DOT physical, insurance check, and any required screenings Experience Previous experience driving for transportation service, school, or healthcare organization is not required, but is helpful. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities not required, but is helpful. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
