In this energetic and fast-paced role, you will operate tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and customer service, will drive our success forward. This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse cargo types, including flatbed loads, and container shipments, all while adhering to strict FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Duties Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with all FMCSA and DOT regulations. Transport various freight types including oversize, flatbed loads, and drive van loads across designated routes. Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient delivery routes and monitor progress throughout each trip. Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment, ensuring proper handling of freight. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to verify safety standards are met before departure and after delivery. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, owner and customers to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, especially with tractor-trailers on route driving assignments. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and DOT standards. Skilled in using GPS navigation tools for route planning and real-time tracking during trips. Ability to handle manual handling tasks including truck loading/unloading and cargo securing for various freight types. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight safety and compliance. Excellent driving skills with a clean record in commercial driving; familiarity with manual transmission trucks preferred. 1-2 years of OTR experience required.
