Job Description

For more than 50 years, Orrville Trucking & Grading (OTG) has served the Wayne, Holmes, Ashland, Stark, and Summit county areas. We are a concrete and aggregate supplier for our local customers. Our Ready-Mix Drivers will tell you that the favorite part of their job is seeing the biggest and coolest commercial and residential jobs in our area. At OTG, the average teammate has been with our company for 9 years! At OTG, safety is our priority. Our fleet doesn't have ladders which makes it much safer and less taxing for our drivers. We have invested heavily in technology to make our drivers jobs efficient, such as central mix batch plants, no hoppers on trucks, a truck wash to automatically wash down your truck, and a Drum Blaster to ease end of day wash up. OTG covers 80%+ of overall benefits costs! OTG offers medical, dental, and vision plans for all full-time employees, as well as a 401K 5% profit-sharing plan after 1 year of employment. Drivers at Orrville Trucking & Grading are eligible for a monthly bonus based and end of season kicker bonus on factors such as truck cleanliness, time to job, and more. With a Monday through Friday (and one Saturday required per month in the busy season) day shift, year round schedule, we guarantee you will be home for dinner! Drivers are expected to start between $20-23 per hour, depending on CDL experience. Ready-mix experience is NOT required! A Ready Mix Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of concrete and other related products to our customers in both rural and urban environments in all weather conditions. Successful applicants will have a valid Class A with no restrictions. 1. Safety Compliance - Be One Team; Do What You Say, Say What You Do What does winning look like: Consistently adheres to all safety protocols and regulations, resulting in zero accidents or safety incidents.

  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, (Cell phones)
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Follow grease procedures
  • Report safety hazards immediately.
  • Have a Clean truck 2.
Customer Obsession What does winning look like: Provides exceptional service, ensuring customer satisfaction and positive feedback on deliveries.
What does it take:
  • Communicate clearly and courteously with customers.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Be ready to pour when our customers are ready (chutes, slump, no cell phones)
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, be on time for work
  • Communicate any special Instruction to dispatch/QC (Back in, Drive in, other job concerns/ feedback) 3.
Proficiency in Job Skills - Every Minute Counts, Be A Problem Solver What does winning look like: Demonstrates expertise in operating the concrete truck efficiently and effectively, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
What does it take:
  • Operate the truck following all operational guidelines. (comfortable with all controls)
  • Maintain knowledge of concrete mixing and delivery techniques.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues independently.
  • Truck Manual override and Tablet skills (status, ticket Info, Paychex calendar) 4.
