Driver Piqua, OH 45356 From $14 an hour - Part-time From $14 an hour - Part-time Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dependable Driver to join our dynamic transportation team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating 5310 bus and transporting members of SafeHaven to and from the site along with taking them to field trips as required. Ensure vehicles are properly maintained and safe for transportation. Schedules daily rider lists for pickup and drop-off. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Establish and maintain positive and supportive relationships within SafeHaven members and staff, including problem-solving during conflict or stressful situations with the members of SafeHaven. 2. Retrieve messages from answering machine/voicemail, collect names from sign-up calendar, and schedule daily pick-up/drop-off routes. 3. Read and review folder containing incident reports and member updates on a daily basis before each route. 4. Operate vehicle in a safe manner including: a. Making sure all riders have latched seatbelts prior to vehicle moving b. Use of headlights at all times. c. Use of flashers when picking up/dropping off clients/members d. Parking within 12 inches of curbs e. Only allowing clients/members to enter or exit vans so that they do NOT cross street to get home f. Not leaving van while it is running and/or when members are on board g. Parking in the middle of one-way streets when members are exiting or entering the van 5. Fill out daily driver logs, monthly driver log summary, incident reports, time sheets, and other agency forms according to established procedures. 6. Assist consumers in entering and exiting the van in a safe manner. 7. Perform a daily inspection checklist. 8. Maintain interior and exterior of the van including but not limited to sweeping interior, picking up loose trash, cleaning windows, and requesting money for carwash. 9. Dress in a manner that is professional but casual. 10. Various tasks as requested by the executive director.
