Overview We are seeking a motivated and reliable Company Driver/Shipping Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role combines safe and efficient driving with essential shipping support duties to ensure seamless logistics operations.   • Operate assigned company vehicles safely, legally, courteously, and in accordance with company policy and all requirements applicable to the vehicle and load.
  • Review the daily route, delivery priorities, pickup instructions, addresses, contacts, operating hours, and required paperwork before departure.
  • Verify material, part identification, quantity, destination, packaging condition, and documentation before loading or accepting a pickup.
  • Load, position, secure, protect, and unload materials using appropriate restraints and material-handling equipment to prevent shifting, damage, loss, or contamination.
  • Obtain required signatures, delivery confirmations, bills of lading, packing slips, receipts, photographs, and other proof of pickup or delivery.
  • Communicate traffic, vehicle, customer, vendor, documentation, or schedule problems immediately so priorities can be adjusted.
  • Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections; report defects, damage, warning lights, maintenance needs, accidents, tickets, and unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel level, safety equipment, registration, insurance documents, and assigned supplies.
  • Protect confidential information, customer property, government-related material, and shipment documentation while in transit.
  • Follow site-specific safety, security, PPE, check-in, and dock procedures at all customer and vendor locations.
  • When not driving, assist with loading, unloading, packing, receiving, material movement, staging, labeling, housekeeping, and shipment preparation.
  • Use email, phones, navigation tools, scanners, shipping systems, and electronic proof-of-delivery tools accurately as assigned.
  • Take ownership of assigned routes and support tasks, confirm completion, and return all paperwork and undelivered material promptly.
Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations, delivery driving, or courier services. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating commercial trucks or box trucks preferred. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper lifting practices; experience with manual handling equipment like pallet jacks is a plus. Familiarity with DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace. Strong knowledge of route driving, traffic laws, and safe driving practices for van or courier deliveries. Experience with manual transmission vehicles is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via mobile devices or in person. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards at all times.
