Job Description
Structure Personnel has partnered with a company in Akron who is looking for a CDL A Flatbed driver. You will be working 6 days a week, and you will have some overtime. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across designated routes in OH and PA. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to regulations, and excellent driving skills. Your flatbed will be transporting heavy parts that will be covered with tarps and secured with blocks, straps, and all necessary safety requirements. You must have the knowledge to work with these straps and tarps. Your shift hours can vary but typically 7:00 am start.. Will require a DOT . Pay ranges from $24 to $26 an hour depending on experience, could be more. Your hours over 40 each week will be time and a half. Benefits will be discussed during the interview with the company. You will be home every day. Safely transport freight to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays. Load and unload cargo as necessary, utilizing forklift equipment when required. Ensure proper securing of loads to prevent damage during transit. Follow company policies regarding safety protocols and procedures. Skills Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL A). Proficiency in operating flatbed trucks . Strong knowledge of route driving and freight transportation regulations. Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients. Familiarity with using forklifts for loading/unloading cargo is a plus.
