In this role, you'll operate late-model Ryder equipment to complete solo deliveries and pickups between warehouses, distribution centers, and customer locations. You'll perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, follow all DOT and Ryder safety standards, secure loads, and manage delivery paperwork and ELD entries. Working closely with dispatch, you'll maintain on-time performance while providing professional, customer-focused service and supporting Ryder's safety-first, team-oriented culture. Responsibilities Operate CDL A truck safely for regional deliveries and pickups Transport freight between warehouses, distribution centers, and customer sites Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues Comply with DOT regulations, Ryder safety policies, and HOS requirements Secure loads, manage shipping paperwork, and obtain delivery confirmations Communicate with dispatch on schedules, delays, and route changes Use onboard and routing technology to optimize routes and fuel efficiency Maintain clean, well-kept equipment and report maintenance needs Provide professional, customer-focused service at delivery locations Support a safety-first, teamwork-oriented Ryder culture Required Skills CDL A commercial driving Defensive driving and safety compliance FMCSA/DOT and HOS regulation knowledge Vehicle inspection and basic troubleshooting Electronic logging devices (ELDs) Freight securement and handling Route planning and time management Paperwork and bill of lading management Customer service and communication Use of GPS and dispatch/routing systems
