Job Description
Company Overview Larry Williams Trucking, LLC is dedicated to providing reliable freight services with a focus on driver satisfaction and operational excellence. Our team is committed to supporting drivers with efficient dispatching, ensuring they maximize miles while maintaining quality home time. Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Driver Dispatcher to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will coordinate and manage the dispatching of drivers, optimize routes, and ensure smooth communication between drivers, customers, and internal teams. Your proactive approach will help us deliver exceptional service while adhering to all transportation regulations and safety standards. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Responsibilities
- Solicitation and scheduling timely and efficient loads for both Company and LP divisions.
- Negotiate rates and book loads with brokers to achieve the highest margin possible.
- Provide customers with information on service, equipment availability, and shipment status.
- Make pick-up and delivery appointments based on customer orders and schedules.
- Monitor shipments and work with ops team to eliminate fines and late fees due to service failure (missed pickup and delivery appointments).
- Maintain and communicate freight loads to drivers, providing routes, stops, and general pickup and delivery details.
- Enter load information and instructions into dispatch software.
- Obtain directions to shippers and consignees and enter directions into dispatch software.
- Interact with customers and drivers in a polite and professional manner.
- Track drivers and loads and make sure they deliver in a timely manner.
- Analyze and evaluate data to ensure accuracy of loads.
- Monitor loads in transit, troubleshoot and foresee delays in delivery of customer orders (weather delays, loading delays, highway closures) and updates operations team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant
HOS /DOT
regulations and company policies.- Works as a team to maintain driver satisfaction and tractor utilization.
- Provide support and back-up duties of administrative and system support tasks in the department and team.
